Naturally Good 2021 was back at the ICC in Sydney this week, showcasing the latest brands and products in natural and organics sector. Food & Drink Business rounds up what caught our eye.

I Am Grounded – functional coffee fruit snacks

The team at I Am Grounded is making better-for-you functional snacks from upcycled coffee fruit waste. Its range of three snack bars – The 9am, The 3pm and the Pick Me Up – aim to be a way to snack sustainably as the team looks to take a closed loop approach to the coffee production cycle. Quest Beverages – Calm & Stormy

Calm & Stormy is the Australia’s own volcanic mineral water. It comes in still, sparkling and fruit infused mineral water varieties and aims to “represent how we as people feel – sometimes calm, sometimes stormy,” said Raeburn. The water has been filtered through volcanic rock and is then packed in a 100 per cent recyclable can or in recyclable glass bottle. Calm & Storm comes in four fruit flavours – Blood Orange, Tasmanian Raspberry, Pink Lady Apple, and Lemon Lime – as well as its Plain Still and Plain Sparkling varieties.

Fine Fettle – EatsUp + Flats

Fine Fettle Foods is upcycling unwanted and ‘ugly’ vegetables into its Eats pots. The plant-based range is made from 100 per cent natural ingredients, vegan-friendly, and available in four flavours – Miso Vegetable Noodles, Vegetable Laksa, Vegetable & Lentil Quinoa, and Mexican Quinoa. Fine Fettle has also released its new Flats crackers range, which dries and then gently bakes Australian grown vegetables. It is also vegan-friendly, gluten-free and is certified organic.

Doctor V – Be Better energy drinks

Be Better energy drinks from Doctor V are made from 100 per cent natural ingredients. All four flavours are made with adaptogenic herbs, berries and vitamins, with less sugar and less caffeine. The energy drinks target different ways in which consumers can be ‘better’ – Think Better, Recover Better, Perform Better and Feel Better.

Mt. Elephant – plant-based hemp milk

The new Hemp & Oat Mylk from Mt. Elephant is the first plant-based milk featuring hemp to enter Woolworths stores around the country. Available in two varieties – Creamy Barista Blend and Delicious Chocolate Blend – the new Hemp & Oat Mylk is vegan-friendly, and a source of magnesium and omega 3. The taste and consistency sits between the creaminess of cows milk and the lightness of almond milk, while meeting the growing demand for more plant-based milk options.

Nourishing Bubs – Nourishing Kids Meals

The Nourishing Group launched its new Nourishing Kids Meals, which have a shelf life of 12+ months. The single serve meals come in initial two varieties – Chicken & Pea Risotto and Brown Fried Rice – with additional SKUs set to join the range soon. Nourishing Bubs is promoting the consumption and enjoyment of vegetables, as well as the consumption of high-fibre, nutrient dense foods for parents to feed their growing kids.

Vitawerx – protein bars

Queensland-based Vitawerx is becoming globally recognised for its health and protein products. Now reaching 41 distributors in nine countries, the Vitawerx range is keto friendly, gluten free, vegetarian and low in sugar. Its chocolate bars features whey protein isolate, ginger extract, natural sweeteners and vanilla extract to form rich and creamy tasting chocolate, without the nasties.

Epik Brands – Nutta cookie bars

Only launched in the past six weeks to the market, the Nutta cookie bars from Epik Brands are packed with more than 10g of protein in each variety. The bars are oven baked and a source of fibre, mixed into three different flavours – Double-Choc, Peanut Butter and Caramel Crunch.

The dairy-free functional latte range from Jomeis Fine Foods is packed in bold, colourful pouches. There are 12 flavours available, including Beetroot, Spiced Cacao, Jaffa, Matcha, Minty Cacao and Lavender.

Bennetto – Organic chocolate

New Zealand-based Bennetto Natural Foods Co is creating organic fair trade chocolate, made with natural ingredients, high cocoa percentages and free from added soy, dairy or preservatives. With characters on every pack designed by New Zealand artist Henrietta Harris, Bennetto’s chocolate aims to pay homage to the source of the cocoa while aiming to positively impact the world with its product.

Get Farmed – natural savoury snacks

Get Farmed first started developing muesli when it launched, and has now made the shift into savoury snacks. Its Yippeas Chickpea Puffs & Bites range are plant-based and have a Health Star Rating of 4.5 stars. Made from 100 per cent natural ingredients and grown my Australian farmers, there are three varieties available – Lime & Cracked Pepper, Salt & Vinegar, and Aussie Barbeque.
