Mt. Elephant has officially launched its new Cake Pods in 700+ Coles supermarkets nationally, marking a significant step forward for the brand and introduces a new format to the dessert category.
The delicious Cake Pods combine a ready-to-microwave cup with a wholefood cake mix, allowing consumers to create a warm, indulgent cake in under 60 seconds. Simply add three ingredients, stir and microwave – no bowl, mixer or additional equipment required.
While microwave cake mixes are already available in Australia, Mt. Elephant says its Cake Pod format is the first of its kind as it combines the cake mix with a purpose-designed microwavable paper-based cup, removing the need for consumers to use a separate mug or bowl.
Available in three flavours – Choc Fudge, Matcha & White Chocolate and Strawberry Shortcake – Cake Pods represent a new direction for Mt. Elephant as it expands beyond traditional baking mixes and into the dessert aisle.
Natalie Butler, CEO of Mt. Elephant, is excited about this new chapter for the brand.

The launch also sees Mt. Elephant enter a new area of the supermarket, with Cake Pods positioned in the dessert aisle at Coles, rather than the traditional baking aisle.
According to Butler, the move reflects a broader ambition for Mt. Elephant to continue finding new ways to make better-for-you choices more accessible for everyone.
“For us, innovation is about more than creating a new flavour. It’s about understanding what consumers want and finding a better way to deliver it. Cake Pods are a great example of that thinking,” she added.
The launch builds on Mt. Elephant’s recent innovation in the baking category, following the brand’s recent launch of Choc Fudge Peanut Butter Cookie Mix and Pancake Mixes in a recyclable no-mess mixing tub format.
Cake Pods RRP is $7.50 (there are two pods per pack).
