Mondelēz International has launched Snacking Right, a mobile-friendly digital platform. Accessible via on-pack QR codes, it provides current recycling and packaging disposal information and the company’s commitment to mindful snacking and sustainable sourcing.

Cadbury will begin rolling out the QR codes across the Cadbury chocolate range from July, with the concept expanding to include further brands and products in the future.

The platform will offer recycling and packaging disposal information, as return-to-store programs and local recycling infrastructure evolves.

Snacking Right also includes information about the brand’s Cadbury Dairy Milk blocks wrapped in 30 percent recycled content and further efforts to support a circular packaging economy.

Mondelēz International President Australia, New Zealand and Japan Darren O’Brien said Cadbury’s goal was to build a more sustainable snacking company by providing consumers with clear information.

“Whilst other disposal programs have come and gone, Snacking Right is Mondelez’s very own digital solution to engage consumers about our sustainability progress and how we can all play a role in reducing our impact on the environment,” said O’Brien.

Enjoying chocolate mindfully

The Snacking Right platform also introduces consumers to Mindful Snacking, a snacking approach developed in partnership with behavioural scientists and eating experts. Included are tools and activities to enjoy chocolate more mindfully and with greater attention and intention.

Mondelēz International’s commitment to sustainable sourcing is also highlighted on the Snacking Right platform.

Consumers can learn more about the dairy farming families who proudly supply fresh milk to the brand.

Featured on the platform is farmer Darren Fielding and his family, who farm 320 Friesen cows in Tasmania’s North-West and have been supplying Cadbury with fresh milk for three generations.

The platform also provides information on Cocoa Life, Mondelēz International’s sustainable cocoa sourcing program, working to better the livelihoods of farmers and build stronger cocoa-growing communities.

Australians can access the Snacking Right platform via the QR codes appearing progressively across the Cadbury range.
