Mars Food & Nutrition Australia is continuing to support Foodbank Australia in tackling food insecurity, with plans to deliver four million meals to Australians in need this year through pasta sauce brand, Dolmio.

This year’s donation represents a five-fold (540 per cent) increase in meals donated since the partnership began in 2021 through Foodbank’s Collaborative Supply Program, which establishes a dedicated, regular supply of everyday foods from manufacturers.

The program includes Dolmio’s Bolognese and Carbonara sauces alongside other Mars Food & Nutrition Australia products, ensuring a steady supply of pantry staples are available for Foodbank.

The initiative has seen 7.6 million meals already donated, with the total expected to reach 11.7 million meals by the end of 2025.

Foodbank Australia CEO, Brianna Casey, said Dolmio’s year-on-year increase in donations is invaluable support in the struggle to meet the rapidly increasing demand for essential food items.

Almost a third (32 per cent) of all Australian households experienced food insecurity in the past 12 months and we are currently providing food relief to more than a million people across the country each month. Despite our best efforts, we simply cannot keep up with the demand,” said Casey.

“Programs like this ensure we have a consistent and reliable supply of key pantry staples in our warehouses all year round. The products complement ad hoc donations and make it easy for people to turn these delicious sauces into meals.

“We are so grateful to the entire team at Mars Food & Nutrition for the unwavering, long-term support, which allows us to provide easy, nutritious meals to the many people in our community doing it tough.”

The 2025 Collaborative Supply Program will also include donations from other Mars Food & Nutrition products, such as MasterFoods Beef Stroganoff, Butter Chicken, and Honey Soy Garlic recipe bases, to ensure Foodbank Australia can offer a variety of meals to those in need.

General Manager of Mars Food & Nutrition Australia, Bill Heague, said he was incredibly proud of the partnership with Foodbank and its positive impact in addressing food insecurity across Australia.

“This partnership not only helps meet the immediate needs of those in crisis, but it also creates a foundation for long-term change, showing what can be achieved when businesses, communities, and charities work together over time,” saidMr Heague.

Dolmio’s ongoing commitment is made possible thanks to the support of its valuable supplier partners, including Logos, Baker & Co, Ingredion, Kagome, and Mainfreight, who generously donate ingredients, packaging, freight and logistics to the program.
