A key attraction on Heat and Control's stand at interpack was its new Revolution Mid-Gate system as part of its range of conveying and seasoning solutions.

Food processing and packaging systems specialist Heat and Control enjoyed a successful interpack, fielding numerous enquiries for the new products it launched, including the Revolution Mid-Gate which can be mounted at the beginning, middle or end of the FastBack conveyor pan, eliminating product transfer pinch-points, while still having the advantages of proportional distribution where you need them.

Food & Drink Business visited the stand, and spoke to CEO Jim Strang and his team about the benefits of the new patented system, which include zero cross contamination, reduced product breakage, easy cleaning and safe, responsive full-open to full-closed speeds for all throughputs.

Here's the Revolution Mid-Gate in action at interpack:

In simple terms, the video shows product being fed in from the processing area, and conveyed leveraging horizontal motion FastBack technology. Before reaching the Revolution Mid-Gate, the product is conveyed beneath a sensor which is reading information from the weigher downstream on how much product is required to fill bags and in turn relaying that reading to the Revolution Mid-Gate which will then rotate to allow the appropriaite amount of product to be conveyed to the weigher. This proportional feeding system allows the weigher to run at 100% efficiency.

The transfer of product through the Revolution Mid-Gate is clean and hygienic; there are no moving parts for product to get caught in, eliminating the risk of cross contamination.
