A new "guilt free" doughnut that has fewer carbs, less sugar and more fibre than a medium apple has hit the shelves and cafe counters.

The doughnut range from Noshu is gluten- and grain-free, dairy-free, has no added sugar and is also fructose friendly and suited to paleo dieters.

Noshu was founded in 2013 by Australian food scientist, Rachel Bajada, who had a family history of diabetes, heart disease and inflammatory conditions.

According to Bajada, the Donuts, which are sweetened with Erythritol and Stevia, contain an average of 150 calories per serve, are baked without grains, seed oils or sugar, and are free of artificial colours and flavours, and preservatives.

The Noshu Guilt Free Donuts are sold in individually wrapped packs, and in boxes of 12 and they have a recommended retail price of $4.50 per doughnut.

They are currently sold in some Foodworks, IGA, Foodland and Romeos stores, mostly in South Australia, as well as in health food stores, delis, grocers and takeaway healthy fast food chains such as Thr1ve and Soul Origin.

Packaging News

The merger between packaging giants Amcor and Berry is now complete, with the all-scrip deal creating a company with some 400 packaging plants, and 75,000 staff, located in 140 countries.

Pact Group is facing softening demand in Q4, citing Donald Trump’s tariffs, the ongoing domestic cost of living pressures, and supply chain disruption with shipping container supply tightening.

Raphael Geminder is following through on his stated intention to delist Pact Group in light of his failed takeover of the company, and has set 16 July as the date he wants it off the ASX.
