FSANZ has introduced a redesigned food recall report to better support food businesses to undertake recalls. The new reporting form enhances the efficiency of reporting and recalling unsafe food items. 

The number of food recalls in Australia in 2020 totalled 109, and dropped to 80 in 2021.  

Accessible on both desktop and mobile devices, the new reporting form facilitates quick and easy data entry through user-friendly, clickable multiple-choice questions and free-text fields. Standardised data fields ensure rapid ingestion into the FSANZ recall software, speeding up response action.

The form is for a single recall product, and food businesses recalling two or more food products will need to complete an additional product details form for each extra product to ensure comprehensive reporting.
