Efficiency, worker safety and product quality remain key priorities for meat processors, driving demand for technologies that deliver measurable operational gains. At foodpro 2026, Food & Drink Business editor Kim Berry spoke with Brendan Joyce from Highgate Group about a range of solutions designed to improve processing performance from the boning room through to packaging.
Among the highlights is the Knecht E50R automatic knife sharpening system, engineered to maintain consistently sharp knives while reducing operator fatigue and supporting improved product yield. Joyce also discusses a self-tensioning chain-mail safety glove that eliminates the need for separate glove tensioners, and Bone Shield, an Australian-made packaging solution designed to protect bone-in meat, allowing processors to use lighter packaging while reducing damage during transport.
