Sri Lankan health officials have lifted a temporary ban on Fonterra's Anchor milk products after testing showed the powder was safe.

Three batches of 400 gram Anchor full cream milk powder were suspended after three customers said that the product had made them ill.

Further testing, however, has cleared the milk powder as the cause, according to Fonterra.

The NZ dairy giant says it is “pleased that the ministry's investigation has confirmed our own internal findings that there is no food safety or quality issue with our product”.
