Food industry trade show, Fine Food Australia, is partnering with the Victorian government for its 2024 event, taking place at the Melbourne Conference and Exhibition Centre from 2-5 September.

Victoria’s food and beverage industry is a major player in the state’s economy and has been a key driver of growth. In 2022-23, the industry exported $19.6 billion worth of food and fibre products, making Victoria Australia’s top food and fibre exporter by value.

The partnership was arranged through Global Victoria, an organisation that provides services for a range of Victorian exporters, and aims to highlight the vital role the Victorian Government plays in supporting industry growth domestically and internationally, and boosting the state’s economic development.

Global Victoria has partnered with Fine Food Australia to capitalise on the benefits it presents for the food and beverage sector, providing a platform to showcase their products, engage with both local and international visitors, and expand their reach into global markets

At Fine Food Australia 2024, Global Victoria will host a Victorian Exhibition Pavilion in the Taste of Australia zone, featuring a diverse selection of 30 Victorian food and beverage companies, including a number of first nations food and fibre businesses.

Victoria is not the only state pushing for local businesses to receive global notice. Twelve NSW businesses have each received $6000 to help showcase their products to buyers from around the world in the Flavours of NSW zone, with the goal to export more and create new jobs and opportunities at home.

Fine Food Australia stated that it looks forward to a successful partnership with Global Victoria, highlighting the event’s role as a globally recognised platform that supports Australian businesses both locally and internationally.

The 2024 event’s agenda includes stages such as Talking Tech, Talking Trends and features from Source Kitchen, Nestle and The Great Aussie Pie Competition, as well as a special 40th Celebration that supports networking and connections within the industry.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
