Woolworths has rolled out Farmers’ Own milk to 240 stores in Victoria which has been sourced directly from farms in the state's Otways region.
Victoria is the third state to roll out the Farmers’ Own brand. Farmers' Own milk sourced from the NSW Manning Valley rolled out across NSW last year amidst controversy as it saw the retailer bypass established processors.
In October, Woolworths rolled the product out in WA where Farmers' Own is sourced from two dairy farmers from the Margaret River wine region.
Woolworths also says it will also introduce Farmers' Own into Queensland.
The milk is permeate free and is available in three varieties; full cream and low fat homogenised milk and full cream unhomogenised milk with the cream on top.
“We are extremely pleased how customers in New South Wales and Western Australia have embraced Farmers’ Own. We know Victorians will love a fresh, local product grown right here in Victoria and available across the state,” Woolworths general manager of Fresh Food, Ziggy Kwarcinski, said.
