Gerd Mosca AG's automated corrugated cardboard strapping machine, the MCB-2 XT, can now be equipped with a second sealing unit to boost product protection and speed.

The second unit allows two parallel strips to be simultaneously applied along the corrugations, for maximum product protection over long transport distances, without slowing down strapping processes.

The MCB-2 XT is Mosca’s high performance successor to the MCB-2. The company says the additional product protection provided by the optional double-sealing unit in this machine is particularly attractive for export.

The auto set-up function ensures that the machine is automatically aligned after the first bundle. After the straps have been applied and sealed with heat welding, the bundles are conveyed by a special pusher system on an outfeed table.

Using the auto set-up function, the corrugated cardboard strapping machine checks the dimensions of the first infed bundle and then automatically creates the required settings.

Once the machine has been set up, an integrated five-sided bundle monitor feeds perfectly aligned, uniform bundles ready for strapping. The advantage of this automatic set-up function is that it enables customers to process batches of different sizes without any major machine set–up time or manual adjustment.
