Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) has installed a new type of draught beer technology into two Sydney pubs to enable them to serve fresh and unpasteurised Carlton Draught.

The technology, dubbed 'fresh tank' delivers fresh and unpasteurised Carlton Draught tank beer straight from the Carlton & United Brewery in Melbourne.

Sydney’s Newtown Hotel is the first to receive it followed by Royal Oak in Double Bay.

The beer is delivered directly from the brewery in special chilled delivery tankers which are designed to be consumed within 14 days of brewing.

“We take the fresh Carlton Draught from a bright beer tank at the brewery, take it up the Hume Highway and straight into the specially designed copper tanks in each venue,” says CUB marketing manager Michael McKeown.

“It’s the freshest draught beer drinking experience in Sydney,” he says.

CUB says Carlton Draught fresh and unpasteurised will be available in more venues across Australia over the next 12 months.
