The Victorian Farmers Federation (VFF) and Coles are jointly launching a new brand of milk that aims to benefit farmers.

The new 'Farmers' Fund' brand of milk will be sold in two litre bottles for $2.50 and with 40 cents from every bottle going towards its initiative, is targeting consumers who want to directly support farmers.

Farmers’ Fund milk is being produced by Murray Goulburn and Coles under licence from VFF. Coles' controversial $1 a litre milk will continue to be sold.

VFF president David Jochinke said the establishment of the Farmers’ Fund brand had strong potential to bridge the gap between primary producers and consumers.

“Many people have asked what they can do to help dairy farmers. If they are not already buying branded milk, they can now buy Farmers’ Fund milk knowing that they are directly investing 40 cents straight into the Farmers’ Fund.”

Farmers’ Fund milk will go on sale later this week in most Coles supermarkets across Victoria.
