The Coca-Cola Australia Foundation has announced a new grant for environmental organisations seeking funding to help tackle marine pollution in Australian coastal and inland waterways.

The new grant is part of Coca-Cola Australia Foundation's flagship round of funding, where the successful organisation will receive $600,000 over three years.

“Coca-Cola in Australia is committed to keeping plastic from ending up in the ocean or landfill,” said Coca-Cola Australian Foundation board member and director of sustainability Christine Black.

“We are pleased to announce that the Coca-Cola Australia Foundation’s new mission is focussed on creating a sustainable future for all Australians and we look forward to supporting a new flagship partner.”

The new grant is part of a number of sustainability initiatives by Coca-Cola, including its sustainable packaging commitments, as well as its World Without Waste vision, where the company aims to collect and recycle the equivalent of every bottle or can the company sells globally by 2030, and ensure it does not end up in waterways or landfill.

Submissions for the new grant will be open from 19–30 August.
