China has lifted an import ban on beef from six Australian processors after human error caused a labelling discrepancy.

 

The labels on some boxes of exported beef didn’t match packet labels inside, causing a ban to be put in place by China’s quarantine agency from late July.

 

The ban reportedly cost affected Australian beef exporters, Australian Country Choice, Thomas Foods International, Kilcoy Pastoral Company, JBS Beef City, Primo JBS and Northern Co-operative Meat Company, a million dollars a day in lost opportunity.

 

Australia's Trade Minister Steven Ciobo said bilateral discussions had been held to help resolve the issue, ABC Online reports.
