Charter Hall Group’s $1 billion Light Horse Logistics Hub at Eastern Creek is now 100 per cent leased, cementing the 180,000sqm industrial estate’s position as a major food logistics hub and location of choice for leading grocery and food brands including Woolworths, HelloFresh, Aldi and BidFood.

A global transport and logistics company joins these major customers, with its commitment to the final available 11,114sqm facility completing leasing of the 35-hectare estate and becoming part of a high-calibre customer base supporting some of Sydney’s most important supply chains.

Strategically located at the intersection of the M4 and M7 motorways, Light Horse Logistics Hub provides access to approximately 4.6 million people within a one-hour drive.

Its connectivity and proximity to 80 per cent of Sydney's population have helped establish the estate as the premium location for grocery and food logistics businesses servicing households and businesses across Sydney.

Among the estate’s customers is Woolworths, whose new Sydney Chilled & Fresh Distribution Centre demonstrates the scale and specialised capability of Light Horse Logistics Hub’s food logistics offering.

The purpose-built 83,960sqm, two-level facility will support Woolworths’ fresh and chilled fulfilment and distribution network across Sydney and broader NSW.

Woolworths showcased the new distribution centre at an on-site event this week, ahead of its planned opening in 2027.

The fully automated facility is expected to be the Southern Hemisphere’s largest temperature-controlled distribution centre, processing more than 3000 tonnes of produce each day.

“Reaching full occupancy at Light Horse Logistics Hub is an important milestone, reflecting the strength of its Western Sydney location and its ability to attract major domestic and global customers,” said Richard Stacker, CEO of Charter Hall Industrial & Logistics.

“Our long-standing relationship with Woolworths extends across the Charter Hall platform, and this facility demonstrates how we support customers’ large-scale, critical supply chain property infrastructure.

“Once operational, Woolworths’ new Sydney Chilled & Fresh Distribution Centre will play a key role in NSW’s essential grocery supply chains, while supporting continued investment and employment across Western Sydney.”

According to Ralph Kemmler, group managing director of property at Woolworths Group, Light Horse Logistics Hub provides the scale, automation capacity, and motorway connectivity required to future-proof our fresh food networks.

“This highlights the strength of our ongoing partnership with Charter Hall and our commitment to investing in high-performing property infrastructure that delivers fresher produce to our customers every day,” he continued.

The 350,000sqm Light Horse Logistics Hub forms part of Charter Hall’s $26 billion national Industrial & Logistics portfolio, one of the largest in Australia, with a focus on partnering with leading Australian and global businesses to deliver property solutions that support their evolving needs.
