Calabria Family Wine Group has taken over Australian distribution for House of Fine Wine and The Wine Company – including products from Groupe Bollinger, Villa Maria, and Tahbilk. The company will manage all on‑premise and independent retail distribution nationally.
Now run by the third generation of the Calabria family, the Group celebrated 80 years of winemaking in 2025. The company acquired the brands Deakin Estate, La La Land and Azahara from Wingara Wine Group in 2020, and McWilliam's Wines in 2021, joining its own product range.
Through Calabria’s distribution arm, Vintners & Co. Merchants, the company manages several major international brands, including Canti, Fontana Fredda, Dow’s Port, Librandi, Dona Paula, Whitehaven, Hecht & Bannier, and Ponting.
Calabria Family Wine Group sales and marketing director, Andrew Calabria, said the new distribution arrangement reflects the family’s dedication, and marks a significant step forward in strengthening the company’s portfolio and national footprint across both on‑premise and independent retail channels.
“This milestone brings together three like‑minded businesses that share our values and long‑term view of the industry,” said Calabria.
“Welcoming House of Fine Wine and The Wine Company into the Calabria family significantly strengthens our national distribution with some of the world’s most respected wine brands and positions us to deliver even greater value across the Australian market.
“We are passionate about representing world‑class wines, and both portfolios reflect that same dedication. We look forward to championing the ongoing success of these iconic brands, including Groupe Bollinger, Villa Maria and Tahbilk,” he said.
As part of the transition, Calabria Family Wine Group has integrated key personnel from both the House of Fine Wine and The Wine Company into its sales, customer service and marketing teams. The move aims to ensure continuity for brand partners, and strengthens the Group’s capability as it takes these portfolios forward across the Australian market.
Indevin Group CEO and House of Fine Wine owner, Simon Limmer, said the partnership is an important milestone in pursuing the company’s customer‑centric strategy, and supports continued growth of the Villa Maria brand in Australia.
“Calabria Family Wine Group brings deep market expertise, long‑term commitment to the wine sector, and strong alignment with our values. Together, we can ensure continued momentum for the Villa Maria brand in one of our key markets,” said Limmer.
The transaction remains subject to standard conditions. Selected brands from the House of Fine Wine and The Wine Co. will be available to the trade from Calabria Family Wine Group in April 2026.
