Breakthroughs in health ingredients, fruit and nut sorting, milk powder analysis, and conveyor belt splicing are among the technological advances that will go on show at foodpro 2014. Here's a taste of what's in store:
Tomra Sorting Solutions will join Heat and Control on stand N42 to promote its Nimbus free-fall machine, which features the latest technological breakthrough, a biometric signature identification (BSI), for nut and raisin processors. It will also be exhibiting its QVision 500 analyser at the show.
Australian meat industry supplier, Food Processing Equipment (stand O2), will be launching the latest addition to Marel’s Pro Series range of meat harvesting systems called the ProFIVE, which enables processors to maintain the same high meat quality, while harvesting up to six per cent extra yield of input weight (at a capacity of up to 2,500 kg/hr). It will als be exhibiting the new Cook-Chill Foodservice Range on behalf of D C Norris & Company Ltd (DCN).
Nutritional ingredients company DSM, (stand A21) will showcase its innovations in nutritional solutions for the first time in the region. Its new releases include the latest nutritional lipids, such as life’sDHA, a vegetarian algal source of DHA omega-3, and its OatWell oat beta-glucan, a soluble fibre found in oats that helps to maintain healthy blood sugar and cholesterol levels.
Health science company, PerkinElmer (stand A27) will introduce its latest innovations in food analysis equipment including its DairyGuard Milk Powder Analyser, which applies advanced algorithms for non-targeted screening of adulterants in milk powder, and its AxION Direct Sample Analysis (DSA) system which eliminates the need for sample preparation.
Packaging manufacturer, ITW Zip-Pak (stand F39), will be showcasing the Vector resealable matrix, which features a proprietary self-sealing matrix that closes securely without exact alignment of opposing segments. The solution provides tactile and audible feedback for reassurance of complete fastening with each use. Its Vector resealable matrix also allows for integration into existing flexible packaging lines with only minor modifications to machinery.
Belt conveyor manufacturer, Flexco (stand Q42) will be launching a new slice press called the Novitool Amigo, a new concept in the joining of solid polyester and polyurethane conveyor belts that makes splicing safe, easy and fast for the meat and poultry industry.
Automated chemistry and manufacturing company Mettler Toledo (stand G44) is introducing a range of industry innovations in food quality control to improve food production efficiency including the SWWB505 PowerMount weigh module which uses POWERCELL PDX loadcell technology to calculate and transmit a weight 15 times per second, 24/7. Also on show will be the Particle Track E25, an inline particle system that enables quality control operators to make real-time decisions that optimise consistency, product quality and enhance productivity.
