BioPak, the Australian B Corp known for its environmentally conscious packaging, has acquired Queensland-based company Bygreen, a move aimed at deepening its commitment to sustainable solutions.
Bygreen, which has been active in the sector for over 30 years, is best known for producing Strong Straws, Australia’s longest lasting paper straw, and offers a range of eco-friendly products including EcoStraws, One Tree Cutlery and Utensils, and Palm Leaf Tableware.
The acquisition is intended to enhance BioPak’s product portfolio and support its broader goal of promoting a circular economy. It also marks a step forward in expanding Bygreen’s reach both within Australia and internationally.
Gary Smith, CEO at BioPak, said, “Bygreen has built a reputation for quality, integrity, and innovation, values that align closely with our own. This is a company that has been at the forefront of the sustainable packaging sector for more than three decades, and we are proud to build upon this legacy through our new partnership.”
Bygreen’s CEO, Mick Krause, will remain in a leadership role and collaborate with the BioPak team to grow customer relationships. He said, “We’re proud of what we’ve built at Bygreen and excited to be joining forces with a company as purpose driven as BioPak. Joining forces with BioPak will also accelerate our growth and strengthen our shared commitment to reducing plastic waste, one product at a time.”
