Not-for-profit industry body Australian Organic has announced two new board members and a general manager.

Member-based Australian Organic has appointed Niki Ford, founder of consultancy Naturalis Advisory, as its new general manager. Ford was appointed after a six-month period of consulting on key strategic marketing projects.

The organisation's incoming board members are former corporate lawyer Bernadette Favis who founded health food company Cocolife, and organic wholefoods expert Leo Watling, founder of Apples and Sage.

“We are very pleased to welcome the skills diversities and industry experience of these talented individuals to the board and management team,” Australian Organic acting chairman Martin Meek said.

“Bernadette’s legal background and entrepreneurial experience will be invaluable to Australian Organic moving forward. Her knowledge and drive, combined with Leo and Niki’s strong commercial acumen, and vast retail knowledge, will see Australian Organic really hit its stride this year.”
