Australian alcohol recovery beverage, Dodge, has landed a distribution partnership with global spirits company, Amber Beverage Group. Effective from 1 October, the partnership aims to fill the market gap of recovery drinks that assist in preventing the negative effects of alcohol.

Amber Beverage Group head of marketing, Tanya Mah, said this partnership marked a milestone for the company, as it enters the alcohol recovery category.

“Dodge complements our existing portfolio perfectly by addressing the growing demand for beverages that support a balanced lifestyle,” said mah

“Leveraging Dodge’s innovative formulation alongside our extensive global distribution capabilities, we are excited to introduce an effective solution to the enduring challenge of hangovers, offering consumers a mindful approach to enjoyment and hedonistic wellness.”

Dodge’s first prototype was a home-made capsule remedy of ingredients to tackle hangovers, with the final formulation developed in 2022, as a functional beverage in collaboration with Monash University’s Food Innovation Centre.

Made up of more than 10 natural extracts and vitamins and scientifically formulated to mitigate the adverse effects of alcohol, the drink assists the body in metabolising alcohol – reducing inflammation and nausea, and replenishing vitamins and minerals that may be depleted.

The 200ml beverage is designed to be consumed as the last drink of the night, and is predominantly made up of Asian pear juice and Chinese vine tea extract, both rich in dihydromyricetin, which boosts the body’s ability to metabolise alcohol and reduces acetaldehyde.

Dodge also includes ingredients such as ginger to reduce nausea and red ginseng to counter inflammation, as well as milk thistle, turmeric extract, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and vitamin C.

Dodge co-founder, Braeden Leahy, said the partnership has shifted the company’s focus, which was previously set on creating the most effective recovery product on the market.

“This collaboration marks a key step in our transition into a global growth phase,” said Leahy.

“That’s why partnering with Amber Beverage Group, with their outstanding track record in growing innovative brands, is incredibly exciting. With their expertise, we’re ready to reach bigger markets and get Dodge into more hands.”
