Asahi Premium Beverages (APB) has added Estrella Damm to its beer portfolio after being appointed exclusive Australian distributor of the brand from 1 January.

Estrella Damm, the best selling beer in Barcelona, will help APB capitalise on the growing popularity of internationally brewed beer products.

The company says it will build the Estrella Damm brand profile through a targeted distribution strategy for its 30L draught keg and 330ml bottle product, sold both on and off the premises.

"We are looking forward to driving success for Estrella Damm under the direction of the APB business as the team takes lead of the beer's agreement for sales, marketing campaigns and distribution rights within Australia,” APB chief commercial officer Scott Hadley said.

“Our intention is to leverage the strengths of Asahi Premium Beverages to deliver ambitious growth."

The beer has been brewed in Barcelona since 1876 and Estrella Damm continues to produce all its malt barley in its own malthouse, making it one of only a few breweries in Spain, and indeed the world, to continue to do so.
