The Australian Refrigeration Council has appointed Mark Lamb as its new CEO and Susie O’Neill as deputy CEO, as the national licensing authority for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry moves into its next leadership phase.
Lamb succeeds Glenn Evans, who concluded 17 years of service with the ARC in December 2025. His background spans executive leadership across multiple peak body organisations, including most recently as CEO of the Murray-Darling Association, and he has a record of working closely with government and industry through strategic transitions.
“The board is pleased to appoint Mark Lamb as our new CEO,” said ARC Chair, Dr Greg Picker. “His passion and experience in leading peak body organisations perfectly aligns with the ARC’s priorities at this time and our vision for the future.”
Lamb said the timing of his appointment coincided with a critical period for the sector. “This is a very important time for the industry as we work towards achieving our national net-zero goals, and I am looking forward to building on the excellent work already underway.”
O’Neill, who had been serving as Acting CEO during the transition period, moves into the Deputy CEO role with a focus on strategy, performance, and service delivery.
“Susie’s commitment has significantly supported the ARC during the recent transition period,” Dr Picker said. “Her appointment as Deputy CEO further strengthens our core leadership team.”
The ARC administers the ARCtick licensing scheme, which covers more than 114,000 technicians and businesses licensed to handle and trade refrigerant gases regulated under the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995. The refrigeration and air conditioning sector is directly relevant to the food and beverage manufacturing industry through cold chain, processing, and storage infrastructure.
