Agrifoodtech industry professionals across the Asia-Pacific region are headed to Singapore at the beginning of November for International Agri-Food Week, featuring events including the eighth annual Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit, the inaugural Further Food & Ag Investment Summit, and the Women Founders & Funders Singapore 2025 pitch night.

Taking place from 3-6 November, Singapore International Agri-Food Week (SIAW) gathers global industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators to build new partnerships and explore opportunities for agri-food technology development and adoption across the region.

Investment

The Further Food & Ag Investment Summit is kicking things off for 2025, debuting on 3 November at the Guoco Midtown Network Hub.

Asia-Pacific produces over half of the world’s food, but attracts barely a quarter of global agrifood investment. This gap underscores both a challenge and a multi-trillion-dollar business opportunity to build climate-resilient, tech-enabled, and commercially scalable food systems.

Held in partnership with global agrifoodtech venture company, AgFunder, the Further summit aims to close the gap, bringing together early and growth-stage companies, investors, and corporates in a curated, invite-only format designed to unlock capital, customers, and accelerate solutions to the region’s most pressing agrifood challenges.

Key investment frontiers for 2025 will include AI & digitisation, regenerative agriculture & nature-based solutions, and novel ingredients & bio-innovations.

AgFunder Asia director, John Friedman, said transforming the food system requires both capital and collaboration, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.

“That’s why AgFunder has partnered with the Further Summit to spotlight leading innovators and work with investors to build a stronger capital stack for the region and sector as a whole,” said Friedman.

“We believe this kind of collaborative platform is essential to scaling solutions that will redefine the future of Asia’s agrifood industry.”

Innovation and tech

The Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit is the anchor event of SIAW, taking place 4-6 November and bringing together hundreds of international stakeholders across the value chain to build agrifood agility and resilience in Asia-Pacific.

Organised in partnership with Temasek and Singapore Food Agency, the summit is expecting over 800 attendees from more than 40 countries, transforming the Marina Bay Sands into a hub for technology discovery, strategic deal-making and C-Suite networking.

A 200-strong speaking faculty will explore the technologies, policies, finance models, and partnerships that are catalysing innovation in farming, food manufacturing, and retail across Asia-Pacific.

Over at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, the fourth edition of the Agri-Food Tech Expo Asia (AFTEA) will be taking place, described by the organisers as Asia’s leading platform for showcasing cutting-edge applications, systems, and solutions that drive the evolution of the region’s agrifood industry.

The theme for 2025 is Shaping Sustainable and Nutritious Food Systems, focusing on innovative solutions and strategies essential for ensuring sustainable and secure food systems.

The eight key focus profiles for the event include;

  • aquaculture
  • deep tech/technological solutions
  • food safety & security
  • novel food, alternative proteins & sustainable food
  • novel food technology
  • smart farming & controlled environment agriculture
  • smart processing & packaging
  • sustainability & resource management.

Female founders and funders

Ten entrepreneurs will be pitching their agrifoodtech innovation ideas on 5 November, platformed by Women Founders & Funders Singapore. Last year, over 180 leaders came together to hear the chosen participants from Australia, China, Singapore, and the UK pitch their pioneering technologies and products.

Founded by FTW Ventures, the Singapore edition of the program is hosted in collaboration with strategic partners Better Earth Ventures, MarTech Collective, Rebbeck Consulting and Tomorrow Studio Ventures.

This year’s pool of applicants, which opened in July, expanded to 15 countries – with Singapore (31 per cent), New Zealand (14 per cent) and Thailand (11 per cent) leading the submissions.

Although no Australian participants were selected this year, there are three from New Zealand, and a range from Singapore, Canada, Indonesia, Sweden, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Better Earth Ventures director, Rebecca Sharpe, said the 2025 2025 Women Founders and Funders Singapore cohort demonstrates that women-led innovation in agrifoodtech is about traction.

“These founders are already revenue-stage, with certifications, pilots and customers, proving that climate-positive solutions can be commercially compelling,” said Sharpe.

“From regenerative soil and smart supply chains to novel ingredients, circular materials, and health innovations, these startups showcase the breadth of agrifood innovation. Women receive minimal venture capital and this initiative spotlights visionary leaders proving Asia’s role as a global growth engine.”
