A special National Basketball Association game currently in play in the US is marking the occasion of Australian Heritage Night with the launch of the Four’N Twenty Traveller pie.

As the Philadelphia 76ers take on the Miami Heat, sports fans in Philly are being treated to Four’N Twenty Traveller sampling stations, an Australian flag giveaway, a spider exhibit and an on-court Four’N Twenty Traveller eating contest.

The event marks the second year of Four’N Twenty’s three-year partnership with the 76ers chosen as Philadelphia is home to several Aussies playing sports in the US: Ben Simmons, Jonah Bolden and Jordan Mailata.

Australian Jordan Mailata of the Philadelphia Eagles has been chosen as this year’s Four’N Twenty Australian Heritage Night Ambassador and as the first and only Australian player to be drafted into the NFL, without any American football experience, Mailata will tip off the game by ringing the 76ers’ ceremonial liberty bell.

Four’N Twenty general manager of marketing and innovation Anand Surujpal said that like Australia, Philadelphia is a place that understands sports and the rituals that complement them.

“It’s a city that’s synonymous with great sports, teams and fans so it was a natural fit for the Four’N Twenty Traveller entry into the US market. Our long-term vision is to see sports fans across the US enjoying a Four’N Twenty Traveller every time they step into a stadium,” Surujpal said.

Four’N Twenty is owned by parent company Patties Foods and the new, easier-to-eat Four’N Twenty Traveller is available in two flavours – Classic Beef and Beef & Cheese.

Made with 100 per cent Australian beef, the newest pies will be available soon in selected convenience stores, retail locations and stadiums across Pennsylvania.

Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
