As one in three Australian households face hunger this Christmas, Aldi and Foodbank are turning festive roasts into vital food relief.
From now until 30 November, Aldi and its business partners are jointly donating 20 cents from the sale of every Ironbark Pork Boneless Loin Roast to Australia’s largest hunger relief charity – and matching customers’ donations dollar-for-dollar.
The campaign enables Foodbank to deliver 250,000 meals to Aussies in need these holidays.
“The holidays should be a time of joy. And yet, relentless cost-of-living pressure means millions will compromise their food choices, skip meals, or at worst, go entire days without eating,” said Kylea Tink, CEO of Foodbank Australia.
“In a country as prosperous as ours, nobody should be facing an empty plate this Christmas.”
It comes amid rising demand for food relief across the country. Foodbank’s newly released Hunger Report 2026 reveals that 3.6 million households (or one in three) experienced food insecurity in the past year – an increase of 100,000 households from 2025.
With 92 per cent of food insecure households naming the cost-of-living as a top concern, many will face an impossible choice this Christmas – pay for rent, bills or petrol, or put food on the table.
Aldi customers can easily help Foodbank feed those doing it tough – either by purchasing a pork loin roast with a purple Foodbank sticker, or donating via the QR code in Aldi’s weekly catalogue. Customers can also donate via Aldi’s website.
“We’re incredibly grateful to partner with Aldi, and this campaign not only helps us reach more Australians facing hunger but raises awareness of the scale of the issue nationwide,” added Tink.
“We encourage shoppers to pick up an Ironbark Pork roast and help ensure everyone can share in Christmas this year.”
Since partnering with Foodbank in 2009, Aldi has donated more than 6.2 million kilograms of product – the equivalent of 11.3 million meals.
“We’re proud to have partnered with Foodbank for more than a decade as part of our commitment to making a Good Difference,” said Annette MacFarland, buying director at Aldi Stores Australia.
“Aldi customers can enjoy a quality roast at a great price, knowing their purchase helps provide a meal for someone in need.”
Aldi’s Ironbark Pork Boneless Loin Roast (RRP $9.99/kg) is available in stores nationally while stocks last.
