The Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) has continued its long-standing partnership with Foodbank by packing 38,256 meals for Victorians experiencing food insecurity.
Together the AIP team packed a mammoth 21,459 kgs, equivalent to approximately 38,256 meals for our community. 38,256 meals are the equivalent of feeding a family of four, 3 meals a day for about 9 years.
The effort followed the introduction by AIP of a new volunteering day in Victoria, with the first day held in late October.
The new AIP Foodbank Warehouse Volunteering Program allows members and their colleagues to work directly with Foodbank Victoria to help the Yarraville Warehouse pick and pack on-line orders and mixed grocery boxes.
The AIP Foodbank Warehouse Volunteering Program provides the opportunity to better understand how Foodbank works and is a combination of picking and packing of on-line food orders and packing mixed grocery boxes.
The AIP Foodbank Warehousing Volunteering Program provides vital work supporting struggling Victorians.
