Individuals and organisations in Victoria’s manufacturing sector have been celebrated at the 21st Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Awards, with That’s Amore Cheese and Farm Foods among this year’s winners.

The awards celebrated leaders in key sectors including defence and aerospace, food and beverage, digital, health and low emissions technologies, with nine new awards presented this year.

Victoria’s $33 billion manufacturing industry includes more than 24,000 businesses, supporting more than 250,000 jobs – providing around 30 per cent of Australia’s manufacturing output.

Winners in the food and beverage industry included Farm Foods, who took home Manufacturer of the Year for Medium Business, and That’s Amore Cheese, winning Leader of Food & Beverage Award.

That’s Amore Cheese founder Giorgio Linguanti said the award was especially sweet as the team had just celebrated 15 years in business.

“I am so proud of the That’s Amore team, who work so hard every day to create amazing cheeses for our customers, delis, restaurants and cafes around the country and internationally. A lot of time and effort goes into developing and producing the very best cheeses, using milk from local dairy farmers who we love to support.

“We are proud of our processes and we now produce more than 60 types of Italian style cheeses. It is a long way away from starting That’s Amore Cheese by creating one cheese at home and visiting Melbourne chefs to try it 15 years ago,” said Linguanti.
