Hill-Smith Family Estates wine brand, Y Series, has released a vibrant new Shiraz to market – Sunset Red – described as bright, juicy and effortlessly drinkable.

The company stated Sunset Red is lighter, fresher and more expressive in style than a typical Shiraz, with juicy red berry flavours and a bright finish.

“Bright ruby in colour. Inviting aromas of ripe boysenberry and raspberry with hints of soft liquorice, violets and a touch of blueberry cheesecake,” stated the tasting notes.

“Light to medium-bodied, delicious, juicy pomegranate, cranberry and rhubarb flavours with a gentle sweetness that enhances its fruit-dominant appeal, coupled with silky tannins and a fresh, mouth-watering finish.”

The launch follows the release of two sparkling wines last March, in response to shifting consumer preferences – Cuvée and Prosecco.

Y Series Sunset Red will be available in Dan Murphy’s stores nationally from mid-June, for RRP $15.00.
