Woolworths has turned up the heat with the launch of a smoky new limited edition Woolworths roast chicken flavour – Smokey BBQ Hot Roast Chicken.

Every year Woolworths sells about 20 million roast chickens, from the traditional Hot Roast Chicken to limited-edition flavours. The company’s latest release was a collaboration with Zeus Street Greek, and other flavours have included Garlic Bread, Tandoori and BBQ Memphis.

The new Smokey BBQ Hot Roast Chicken is seasoned with an aromatic garlic, paprika and cayenne pepper, and stuffed with a smokey BBQ-flavoured stuffing.

Woolworths hot roast chicken manager, Isabella Di Moia, said the company’s roast chickens have been an Australian family favourite since it was introduced to stores in 1960.

“They say variety is the spice of life, and our customers love it when we bring fresh flavours into the store. This latest limited-edition chook brings a tasty smokey spin on a classic,” said Di Moia.

Woolworths Smokey BBQ Hot Roast Chicken will be available in Woolworths stores nationwide from 25 March, for RRP $14.00.
