Woolworths has collaborated with American bakery chain, Cinnabon, to launch a limited-edition Hot Cross Bun, flavoured with the company’s signature cinnamon swirl and glaze.

Since Hot Cross Buns arrived on Woolworths shelves just after Christmas, the company said traditional fruit-filled buns have been the most popular pick, with Australian sultanas and currants.

Combining the warm spices of a traditional Hot Cross Bun with Cinnabon's signature cinnamon swirl and glaze, the Cinnabon Hot Cross Buns join the range of over ten flavours available at Woolworths stores – including Fairy Bread, Cadbury Caramilk, and Biscoff.

Woolworths hot cross bun expert and bakery merchandise manager, Donald Keith, said: “We’ve seen some of the reactions from customers about our collaboration with Cinnabon and wanted to serve up a surprise by bringing these Hot Cross Buns to shelves early.”

“Over the years, we’ve explored many trending flavours for our Hot Cross Buns, but we think the Cinnabon flavour is pretty unique. The classic cinnamon swirl, combined with the indulgent cream cheese-style filling offers something completely new to our range,” he said.

Cinnabon Hot Cross Buns are now available online and in Woolworths stores nationally.
