The Magnum Ice Cream Company is bringing a new flavour of Streets Viennetta to Australian households for the first time in years – with the launch of Viennetta Salted Caramel.
Streets first introduced Viennetta to Australia in the mid-1980s, soon after its creation in the UK earlier that decade. At a time when at-home entertaining was evolving, Viennetta brought something entirely new to the freezer aisle – a restaurant-inspired dessert that felt elevated, indulgent and worth sharing.
Salted caramel is already one of Viennetta’s best-selling variants globally. Its introduction to Australia reflects both evolving flavour preferences and a resurgence of interest in classic brands.
The flavour blends smooth salted caramel and vanilla with crisp layers of caramel topped with caramel pieces, delivering the layered slices and signature ripple structure that has defined Viennetta for generations.
Streets marketing director, Kalli Swaik, said Viennetta has a special place in Australian memories, anchored in the moments spent at home with family and friends.
“It’s always been the dessert you brought out when guests came over and you wanted dinner to feel a little bit fancy,” said Swaik.
“More than 40 years later, what has changed is how Australians are entertaining – we’re seeing more moments at home together, and a growing ask from consumers to create something that feels special without the effort. That’s exactly where Viennetta fits.
“What’s been really exciting is seeing how Viennetta connects generations. There is a sense of nostalgia when the Viennetta lands on the table. Viennetta Salted Caramel joins Viennetta Vanilla, and is now available in Coles and Metcash supermarkets nationwide, for RRP $8.00.
