Plant-based meat company, v2food, has launched the Daring Food high-protein range in Australia, after acquiring the US food brand last year.

Daring has built strong momentum internationally through its clean-label, protein-forward products – designed to meet growing consumer demand for convenient, versatile and better-performing food options.

The brand has built a global following for products that genuinely sear, brown and pull apart in the pan, while maintaining a simplified ingredient list free from artificial flavours and chemical binders.

The acquisition expands the v2food portfolio beyond first-generation plant-based products and into a new era of high-performance protein, which the company stated is designed for modern consumers increasingly prioritising ingredient transparency, nutritional value and everyday convenience.

Daring Foods Plant Chicken Pieces are now available in the Woolworths freezer aisle in Original and Cajun options. The range has been developed for quick dinners, meal prep, high-protein lunches and everyday cooking occasions, positioning the brand as a mainstream protein option for consumers seeking convenience, versatility and nutritional performance.

v2food CEO, Tim York, said the brand's Australian launch reflects broader shifts in how consumers are approaching protein and convenience meals.

“We know the category is moving away from regular meat substitutes and toward foods and products that stand on their own merit and that’s what Daring was made to do,” said York.

“As the number one plant-based meat business in Australia we are excited to bring more delicious options to the table for Australian consumers. The acquisition represents an important step in our commitment to diversify our portfolio and expand into the next generation of high-performance protein products”.

Daring Original and Cajun Plant Chicken Pieces are currently available nationally at Woolworths stores, for RRP $8.50.
