The Macallan has capped its six-part Harmony Collection with a coconut pairing: Inspired by Fresh Coconut, bottled at 46.3 per cent ABV, and its richer sibling, Inspired by Toasted Coconut.

Fresh Coconut runs fresh coconut, citrus, and tropical fruit into coconut milk and zesty lime on the palate, finishing bright and floral. Toasted Coconut goes deeper: toasted coconut, crème caramel, and white chocolate on the nose, with coconut truffle, charred pineapple, and frangipane on the palate. Both are matured in sherry seasoned American oak and ex-bourbon casks, the American oak doing the heavy lifting on the coconut character.

Six bespoke cocktail serves have been created for the release, spanning bright, tropical, citrus-led profiles through to creamier, more indulgent builds, alongside a dessert pairing series from El Celler de Can Roca pastry chef Jordi Roca as part of the TimeSpirit dining collaboration.

The Macallan master whisky maker, Kirsteen Campbell, said the two expressions “showcase both the natural influence of oak and the skill of our Whisky Mastery team”.

Inspired by Fresh Coconut lands in selected Australian liquor stores from October, RRP $295.
