Tasmanian winery, Tamar Ridge, has dropped three new rare expressions of Tasmanian Pinot Noir, aiming to balance tradition and exploration for consumers who seek out fine wines that stand apart.

The collection launched on 18 August, in celebration of International Pinot Noir Day, and includes:

  • Research Series Pinot Noir 2022
Our most exploratory release, this exquisite wine was crafted using carbonic maceration and a bespoke dry yeast fermentation trial. It’s vibrant, layered with wild red fruits and lifted aromatics, a fresh take on Tasmanian Pinot Noir.
    RRP: $55
  • Single Block Kayena Pinot Noir 2024
From a parcel adjacent to our winery, planted with the D4V2 clone, this harmonious wine is all about elegance and structure. It’s a refined expression of a block that consistently delivers outstanding fruit quality.
    RRP: $110
  • Single Block Rosevears Pinot Noir 2024
Sourced from the picturesque vineyard driveway leading to our cellar door, this perfectly balanced wine showcases the 115 clone’s signature redcurrant and plum notes, with white spice and fine tannins.
    RRP: $110

Tamar Ridge senior winemaker, Tom Wallace, said the rare wines reflect the company’s deep respect for the Tamar Valley’s cool-climate terroir and an ongoing pursuit of mastery in Pinot Noir, a variety known for its complexity and finesse.

“These fine wines are a reflection of what makes Tasmanian Pinot Noir so special: purity, nuance, and the thrill of discovery,” said Wallace.

“We’re always learning, always refining, and always looking to share something unique.”

The range is now available in limited quantities online at tamarridge.com.au and at the company’s cellar door in Launceston.
