McCain Foods has combined two Sara Lee classics into one dessert with the title 'Brownie & Cheesecake'.

Brand Manager Alexandra Kevork said the two favourite products were now “together at last” in a combination that met demand for visual appeal and a good-quality dessert.

The cheesecake is sprinkled with chocolate crumb on top of a chocolate brownie cake base, and McCain Foods uses the pack to show consumers how to decorate the dessert for optimal Instagram and Facebook sharing.

The company is seeking to follow the hybrid dessert trend, which started with the popularity of cronuts and cruffins.

“We believe our chewy yet dense chocolate brownie provides just the right textural contrast to the light and creamy cheesecake topping, and the flavours go together perfectly,” Kevork said.

The dessert is now sold in Coles and Woolworths nationally with an RRP of $7.49.
