The Lupin Co are bringing its lupin bean-based products, packed with protein and fibre, to IGA and health food stores around the country.

Lupin beans can be grown in drought affected areas as they require little water, and around 85 per cent of lupin bean world supply produced is Western Australia.

The Lupin Co range includes products such as a Protein Cookie Mix, Tumeric and Coconut Rice and Protein Rich Cereal, all which are suited for consumers with allergies, intolerances and dietary preferences including dairy, wheat and gluten.

“To put it simply, these legumes have three times more protein than quinoa, three times more dietary fibre than oats, three times more antioxidants than berries, three times more potassium than bananas, and three times more iron than kale,” said a spokesperson from The Lupin Co.

“Not only are lupins a healthy choice to consume, they also act as a natural fertiliser for the earth. This means Lupins produce their own crop-demanding Nitrogen, help to reduce chemical use, help to trap carbon in the soil and dramatically improve soil health where lupin is grown.”

The full range of products from The Lupin Co are available at IGA supermarkets, health food stores and online.
