Peters Ice Cream has launched its new Maxibon Cinnamon Scroll, a dough-flavoured slab swirled with sticky cinnamon syrup, sandwiched between two golden biscuits and dipped in cream cheese icing with vanilla crumb pieces.

According to the company, the appetite for cinnamon is showing no signs of slowing down, pointing to a recent report which estimates the global market for it now valued at around US$907.2 million.

“Some flavours become popular, but cinnamon scroll has become a genuine cultural obsession,” said Andrea Hamori, head of marketing at Peters Ice Cream.

“We wanted to capture everything people love about that flavour and give it the full Maxibon treatment. The result brings together the nostalgic comfort of a bakery-fresh scroll with the bold textures and indulgence Maxibon fans know and love.”

The new Maxibon Cinnamon Scroll is now available exclusively at Woolworths in a four pack ($11.50) and at Ampol as single serves ($5.60).

Packaging News

Australia's environment ministers have declared packaging reform urgent and named soft plastics as an initial priority, but offered no firm timetable or regulatory commitments. SPSA has welcomed the soft plastics focus, while Boomerang Alliance and WMRR have raised concerns about the lack of concrete action.

Economic analysis commissioned by SPSA estimates national recycling reforms could deliver up to $278m in net productivity gains and stimulate up to $2.6b in capital investment each year.

A cross-sector open letter is urging national leaders to agree on a pathway for regulated producer responsibility schemes at the September Environment Ministers Meeting.
