Penfolds will release its highly anticipated 2025 Collection on 7 August 2025, showcasing 24 wines from Australia, the US, France and China. The lineup, each distinctive yet unified by the Penfolds House Style, reflects the winemaker’s continued ambition to push boundaries across some of the world’s most revered wine regions.

Leading the release is the 2021 vintage of Grange, described by Penfolds chief winemaker, Peter Gago, as “buoyant, layered, accessible” with a structure that will reward decades of cellaring.

“If this is your first sip of Grange, then expect the unexpected… This Grange will not disappoint,” he said, noting it may take 30 years to fully assess its place among past vintages.

While Grange remains the flagship, Gago highlighted the role of experimentation in shaping Penfolds’ legacy – from Grange’s origins as a 1951 trial to current French winemaking projects. This year, the Collection includes the 2022 FWT 585 Cabernet Merlot Petit Verdot and the debut of its sibling wine, 2022 FWT 543 Cabernet Sauvignon Syrah, crafted in Bordeaux.

The Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz combination, a hallmark of Penfolds, features prominently across the range in wines such as Bin 389, Bin 600, Bin 180, and the Superblend series. The French-made FWT 543 reimagines the blend as a Vin de France, combining structural Cabernet with highly textural Syrah in a style Gago describes as “familiar yet altogether different.”

From the iconic Grange to innovative new releases, the Penfolds 2025 Collection underscores the enduring strength of the House Style, connecting generations of winemakers and sourcing the best grapes from across hemispheres to craft wines of bold individuality.
