Calabria Family Wine Group brand, McWilliam’s, has introduced a new collection of contemporary table wines, Terra. Available nationally, the range features four varietals – Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz.
As more Australians embrace relaxed, at-home entertaining and midweek dining, Terra is designed to complement shared plates and spontaneous occasions. Honouring the brand’s legacy, Terra blends McWilliam’s six generations of winemaking expertise with the defining characteristics of the region, resulting in wines with balance, vibrancy and depth of flavour.
Tasting notes for the range include:
- Terra Shiraz 2024 – Lifted aromas of red plum and dark cherry, layered with spices and subtle cedar notes. Medium-bodied and generous, this wine bursts with juicy dark cherry and plum, framed by soft tannins. Matured in a selection of French oak formats, it carries cinnamon spice and subtle chocolate notes resulting in a silky finish.
- Terra Chardonnay 2025 – Bright aromas of ripe white peaches, honeydew melon and lemon characters, complemented by subtle almond notes. Refreshing notes of white nectarine and citrus lead the palate, layered with a gentle creamy texture and a whisper of French oak. The finish is long and soft, driven by bright acidity and lingering fruit characters.
- Terra Pinot Noir 2025 – Lifted aromas of strawberry and red cherry, complemented by subtle hints of earthy notes. A medium-bodied wine showcasing vibrant fruit characters, beautifully balanced by subtle oak and crisp varietal tannins. Lightly oaked, with a small portion matured in contact with French oak, it delivers a smooth tannin finish and generous fruit length.
- Terra Sauvignon Blanc 2025 – An elegant Sauvignon Blanc revealing lifted herbaceous aromas and vibrant tropical notes. Refreshing and crisp, the palate bursts with vibrant aromatics, showcasing tropical passionfruit, zesty citrus, and bright herbaceous notes. Soft and easy drinking, with balanced acidity. The finish is crisp and refreshing, full of intensity and flavour.
McWilliam’s sixth generation family winemaker, Scott McWilliam, said Terra reflects how Australians are enjoying wine today – fresh, generous and made to be shared.
