Australia’s most remote brewery, Matso’s, has launched its new ready to drink (RTD) – the Vodka Lemon Lime Crush. It will be available at select venues across Western Australia.

Broome based brewery, Matso’s, is best known for its alcoholic ginger beer, and has moved into the RTD sector with the draught launch of its Vodka Lemon Lime Crush. A take on a classic blend, the product combines Australian limes and lemons, and has already reached its three-month sales target within the first few weeks of launch.

Matso’s brand manager, Liv Waters, said that brands with more female appeal are needed in the citrus RTD sector to sustain category growth.

“Matso’s has always enjoyed strong appeal amongst female drinkers in the ginger beer space and we think attracting new female drinkers to the citrus RTD category is a great role we can play to sustain category growth in the segment.

“The citrus RTD category is very much a multi-national space at the moment, but we’re hoping the fact that we’re 100 per cent Australian owned and made will also aid our appeal.”

The company opened its second location earlier this year – Matso’s Sunshine Coast at Eumundi. With its own distillery, the team was inspired to tackle the world of spirits and RTDs.

“We know the RTD category is continuing to grow, so we included a new distillery at Matso’s Sunshine Coast to test flavours and get the creativity going. To be able to combine the strength of the Matso’s brand within a rising sector is a real win for our customers,” said Waters.

Matso’s Lemon Lime Crush, at 4.5% ABV, is available on tap across Western Australia, and will be released in keg and can nationally later this year.
