Funday and Mr Whippy are coming together to launch the limited-edition Foamy Ice Cream Gummies, inspired by the taste of Mr Whippy soft serve with an added lolly twist.

Inside each bag is a mix of strawberry and vanilla ice cream cone-shaped gummies, with a soft, foamy texture designed to recreate that creamy flavour experience in gummy form.

Daniel Kitay, founder of Funday, said the collaboration was all about capturing that unmistakable feeling.

“You hear the Mr Whippy van before you see it, and instantly you know something fun is coming,” he said.

“That feeling is what we wanted to capture with this collaboration – all that iconic Aussie summer nostalgia, reimagined the Funday way.”

According to Paul Ayoub, general manager of Mr Whippy, the collaboration brought together two proudly Australian brands.

“This is a delicious new take on an iconic experience, capturing the joy and nostalgia Mr Whippy has shared with generations because fun never goes out of flavour,” he added.

Funday x Mr Whippy Foamy Ice Cream Gummies are available in 50g bags for $4.50, available at Woolworths now, online at fundaysweets.com, Chemist Warehouse and independent grocers from October.

Packaging News

Australia's environment ministers have declared packaging reform urgent and named soft plastics as an initial priority, but offered no firm timetable or regulatory commitments. SPSA has welcomed the soft plastics focus, while Boomerang Alliance and WMRR have raised concerns about the lack of concrete action.

Economic analysis commissioned by SPSA estimates national recycling reforms could deliver up to $278m in net productivity gains and stimulate up to $2.6b in capital investment each year.

A cross-sector open letter is urging national leaders to agree on a pathway for regulated producer responsibility schemes at the September Environment Ministers Meeting.
