The Sneaky Bucha is latest addition to The Bucha of Byron brand, which adds the kick of kombucha in a new full-strength, lower carb beer.

The new drink was developed by the Byron Bay-based teams at Kombucha Brewing Co. and Stone & Wood. It aims to satisfy consumer demand for “low-calorie, high-quality products which can be enjoyed without the guilt”, as kombucha continues as one of the fastest growing beverage categories in the country.

“There’s a lot of hype around alcoholic seltzers coming into this summer and the Sneaky Bucha appeals to the same unisex, health-conscious crowd being lower carb, but does it with something we know Aussie drinkers love – beer,” said Bucha of Byron co-founder Paul Tansley.

The Sneaky Bucha comes in 330ml cans in three beer styles: XPA, Lager and Summer.

“The XPA for the craftier in-the-know beer drinkers, a more mainstream easy-drinking Lager and a refreshing Summer wheat beer,” Tansley said.

The Sneaky Bucha is now available from BWS and Dan Murphy’s stores around the country.

Packaging News

The World Packaging Organisation has named 234 winners for the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026, which were selected from 481 entries submitted across 36 countries.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
