Hugos Chocolates has partnered with US bakery brand Cinnabon to launch Hugos Cinnabon Bombs, available exclusively at Coles stores nationwide and online from 10 August.
The bite-sized treats feature a cinnamon flavoured centre made with Makara cinnamon and crispy filo pastry pieces, coated in a cream cheese frosting shell. The Australian-made 130g packs carry an RRP of $6.50.
The launch follows the Melbourne confectioner’s Milk Chocolate Pistachio Bombs, its take on the Dubai chocolate trend, and extends the Cinnabon brand beyond its bakeries under licence from parent company GoTo Foods.
Hugos Chocolates founder, Costa Kon, said the Cinnabon craze was huge internationally. “We knew we had to turn it into a Bomb. Collaborations and viral flavour drops are where the category is heading,” Kon said.
GoTo Foods president of international and retail channels licensing, Dave Mikita, said the collaboration transformed the brand’s “beloved tastes into a unique confectionery experience”.
