The limited edition Nutri-Grain Gold Honey Crunch will join the cereal aisle for four weeks only, as the brand gets a new twist for the first time in five years.

The new flavour is blended together with golden honey, corn, oats and wheat, and will be available in 1.2kg value packs.

“For decades Aussies of all ages have loved Nutri-Grain as part of their breakfast. With Nutri-Grain being such an iconic brand, we wanted to give the fans something new, with a delicious flavour that would not leave them disappointed,” said Nutri-Grain portfolio manager Dan Bitti.

“Just like the original, the limited edition Nutri-Grain Gold Honey Crunch delivers the unstoppable crunch and taste people know and love, while still having more than 20 per cent protein.”

The limited edition Nutri-Grain will be available until the end May at Coles supermarkets around the country for RRP $11.00.

Packaging News

New European rules on generic environmental claims have prompted the Australasian Bioplastics Association to warn that packaging carrying poorly substantiated claims could be marketed in Australia.

Australia's environment ministers have declared packaging reform urgent and named soft plastics as an initial priority, but offered no firm timetable or regulatory commitments. SPSA has welcomed the soft plastics focus, while Boomerang Alliance and WMRR have raised concerns about the lack of concrete action.

Economic analysis commissioned by SPSA estimates national recycling reforms could deliver up to $278m in net productivity gains and stimulate up to $2.6b in capital investment each year.
