Grove Juice has nationally launched its new chilled juice pouch range, targeting young and middle families and creating new consumption occasions beyond the traditional breakfast table.
The launch marks a significant product innovation for the Australian juice brand, with the new format designed to bring convenience and fruit-based refreshment to lunchboxes, picnics, sporting activities and family outings.
The range is intended to attract households that are currently underrepresented in Grove’s customer base, using a portable format aimed at busy parents looking for convenient options their children will enjoy.
According to the launch brief, each Grove Juice Pouch contains the equivalent of one serve of fruit, with a format designed to be easy to pack and consume. The product is positioned around the practical demands of family life, particularly school lunches and weekend activities.
The launch also introduces a new format to the chilled juice category, opening up potential consumption occasions including beach days, road trips, children’s parties and frozen treats.
Driving trial and household growth
Grove’s national rollout represents a broader growth strategy beyond the introduction of four new SKUs. The business aims to recruit a new generation of Australian families into the brand, while supporting longer-term growth across its existing portfolio.
The company has identified household recruitment, product trial and repeat purchase as key measures of success, with a particular focus on younger families and shoppers under 50.
Its stated targets include recruiting 100,000 to 130,000 new households, lifting brand penetration to between 5.8 and six per cent, and converting 30 to 40 per cent of recruited households into take-home Grove buyers.
The strategy also aims to increase the proportion of pre-family buyers to 58–60 per cent and shoppers under 50 to 52 per cent.
The pouch range is expected to complement Grove’s core 1.5-litre juice offering, with the potential to introduce the brand to new consumers who may later purchase its larger-format products.
Convenience meets changing consumption occasions
The launch reflects an emphasis on convenience and portability, with Grove positioning the pouches around the everyday realities of family routines.
The proposed creative platform, ‘The Lunchbox Hero’, centres on a familiar challenge for parents – packing lunches that children will actually eat. The concept is intended to extend beyond school lunches to outdoor recreation and family adventures.
National retail activity is scheduled to support the launch, with shopper marketing planned from November through to April. A Little Athletics sampling campaign is scheduled to run from October to March, while broader advertising activity will support key back-to-school periods in January and April.
Sampling and retailer engagement are central to the strategy, with the business seeking to generate widespread product trial and encourage families to actively seek out the new range.
By combining a new product format with a national rollout and family-focused marketing, Grove Juice is looking to build household penetration and establish the pouches as an additional option within the chilled juice category.
