McCain Foods Australia has launched a frozen woodfired sourdough pizza range.

Called Rustica, the pizzas are being marketed as more “natural and authentic” in response to consumer demand for convenient, gourmet food at home.

McCain says they are minimally processed, with a sourdough crust, and baked in a wood-fired oven. They contain no artificial preservatives or flavours.

Pizza offerings are becoming more gourmet, and consumers more demanding of quality, according to the company.

The Rustica range includes flavours of Spinach and Mozzarella with sundried tomatoes, Margherita with fresh herbs, and Four Cheese.

The range will be sold in Coles, Woolworths, and Metcash stores with an RRP of $7.49.
