Australian confectionery brand, Funday Natural Sweets, is heading to a new corner of the chocolate universe with the launch of a world first all-new chocolate bite featuring a soft dual-layer gummy and foam centre.

The new range is available in two nostalgic flavours exclusively at Coles from 10 August and follows the launch of the company’s ‘Outta This World’ chocolate range earlier this year.

Proudly made in Australia, the new bites feature an all-new dual-layer centre, combining a soft fruity gummy with a light, creamy foam, coated in smooth chocolate.

The new range includes two products available in 50g bags for $6 each:

  • FUNDAY Milk Chocolate Strawberry & Cream Bites
  • FUNDAY Caramel White Chocolate Raspberry & Cream Bites

“We're incredibly excited to be expanding our chocolate range and bringing these new bites exclusively to Coles,” said Daniel Kitay, founder of Funday Natural Sweets.

“Every new product we launch is driven by our mission to create more moments of joy for Australians, and these bites are a great example of that. By combining a soft gummy and creamy foam centre with smooth chocolate, we've created a new way to enjoy Funday. We can't wait for more people to discover the range.”

As with all Funday sweets, the new chocolate range delivers on the brand’s better-for-you promise, meaning there is no sugar added; no sugar alcohols; it is loaded with gut-loving prebiotic fibre; comes with natural colours and flavours; and is gluten free.

The new Funday Chocolate range will be available exclusively at Coles supermarkets nationally from 10 August.

Packaging News

Australia's environment ministers have declared packaging reform urgent and named soft plastics as an initial priority, but offered no firm timetable or regulatory commitments. SPSA has welcomed the soft plastics focus, while Boomerang Alliance and WMRR have raised concerns about the lack of concrete action.

Economic analysis commissioned by SPSA estimates national recycling reforms could deliver up to $278m in net productivity gains and stimulate up to $2.6b in capital investment each year.

A cross-sector open letter is urging national leaders to agree on a pathway for regulated producer responsibility schemes at the September Environment Ministers Meeting.
