Kentucky based whiskey producer, Elijah Craig, is launching its new extra-aged Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey in Australia, distributed through Boozebud.
Elijah Craig, known as the "Father of Bourbon" for being the first distiller to age wares in charred oak barrels to make bourbon, founded the distillery in 1789. The heritage lives on with the distillery’s range of Kentucky bourbon whiskeys, now distributed worldwide.
Distilled at Heaven Hill Distillery in Kentucky, Elijah Craig Rye is made as a traditional American straight rye whiskey with 51 per cent rye, 35 per cent corn, and 14 per cent malted barley. On the nose are notes of dark chocolate, spices, and a subtle hint of smoke. The taste has an initial hit of rich baking spices and sweet honey, before transitioning to a smooth oak finish.
Heaven Hill Distillery master distiller, Conor O’Driscoll says the rye whiskey’s unique blend of spicy rye grains and sweet corn gives it the perfect balance of flavour and smoothness.

The Elijah Craig Rye is extra-aged, a staple of the brand’s spirits which results in a greater complexity in taste and a more full-bodied spirit with a long and lingering finish.
